Excurion To Essaouira

Excursion to Essaouira (1 day) Recommended!

Overview:

Take a day excursion from Marrakech to Essaouira to discover one of the Atlantic coast’s hidden jewels. Essaouira, also known as Mogogdor, is known for its fortified Medina and fishing harbor. Essaouira is a popular day excursion from Marrakech due to its artsy and bohemian ambiance, cool weather all year, and simple 2 hour and a 30-minute journey from Marrakech. Every day from Marrakech, an Essaouira day excursion departs, and only one person is required per ticket.

Excursion to Essaouira has a lot of activities that you can do during your stay in Essaouira (previously known as Mogador), like visiting the Wood Crafts Museum or getting a panoramic view from the old watchtower at the port. You may also pass through the Puerta de la Marina Gate, which connects the port with the rest of the city, or you can watch a fish auction taking place in the port. However, perhaps the most interesting part about Essaouira would be its old Medina, with narrow alleyways filled with artisanal products displayed for sale. The mix of all the different kinds of craftsmanship gives a unique vibe straight out of a fairytale. Outside the medina, in the upper part of the city, you will find many cannons remaining from the 16th and 17th centuries, great for photographs.

Drive back to Marrakech late in the afternoon, and your full-day tour of Essaouira will conclude with a drop-off at your hotel or the closest car-accessible location to your riad.
