Day 1: Fez – Merzouga

4 days from Fez to Marrakech trip will start towards the desert and end in Marrakech, by driving past the beautiful town of Ifrane, also called the Switzerland of Morocco for its unique weather and architecture. Our first stop along the way will be to observe wild macaque monkeys in their natural habitat, at the cedar forest in Azrou. Another beautiful town we will come across along the way is Midelt, in which we will stop to have a traditional lunch. We will then resume our trip to Merzouga, passing through the valley of Ziz and its impressive palm groves, with breathtaking natural landscapes. They spread through an area about 20 kilometers long, and these palm groves contain approximately 10 million palm trees. For that, the palm groves of Ziz are considered among the biggest in the world. Finally, we will arrive at the Sahara desert, Merzouga, where we will first stop at a hotel in order to check-in and deposit our luggage, and then we will switch from 4×4 vehicles to a camel caravan which we will ride through the fascinating dunes of Erg Chebbi. We will then reach our desert camp just in time to watch the sunset over the dunes, after which you will have dinner and get to spend the night in a traditional nomad tent where our first day of 4 days from Fez to Marrakech ends.

Day 2: Desert of Merzouga – Desert of Ouzina

After having breakfast at the camp, we will start driving through the desert dunes, following a track known for being the old track of the Paris-Dakar Rally. We will be driving through a desert area, which means we will meet many Berber villages along the way, one of which being Khamlia. You will get to explore the village that´s untouched by civilization, as well as enjoy the traditional Gnawa music that´s indigenous to the people of the area. Then we will meet the village of Taouz, from which we will find again the track of Paris-Dakar, which will lead us to the Ouzina village and Erg Ouzina. Ouzina is a small but beautiful village near the Algerian border, from which we will head to the dunes of Erg Ouzina.

Day 3: Ouzina – Berber villages – Ramlia – Tafraoute – Alnif – Tinghiri – Dades Gorges

This next day we will leave Riad Ouzina TGM to head to the Ramlia village, driving through amazing desert landscapes filled with sights of nomad Berber families, desert dunes, camel caravans and more. We will near arrive in the towns of Tinghir and Alnif after about a 3-hour drive, and this is where you will see some of the most spectacular views in Morocco. After a long piece of land filled with greenery and palm trees, we will reach the Todra gorges, which are a series of river carved canyons that make a beautiful set of rock formations. After exploring the area will continue our trip moving to another set of gorges nearby, the Dades gorges. Finally, we will have dinner and spend the night at a local hotel or Riad.

Day 4: Dades Gorges- Ouarzazate – Marrakech

After having breakfast at the hotel, we will start driving towards our first destination of the day: the city of Ouarzazate. On our way there, we will drive by a beautiful valley named the valley of Roses. Once we reach Ouarzazate, we will take some time to discover the city, which is known for being the “Hollywood of Morocco”. Next, we will drive to the neighboring Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, which is an ancient traditional fortified Ksar, a UNESCO world heritage, and the filming location for many important international movies. We will then leave for our final destination of the trip, which is the city of Marrakech, driving through the Tizi N Tichka pass, located in the heart of the High Atlas Mountains.  We will arrive at Marrakech in the evening where our Fez to Marrakech tour ends.
