This private 7-day Marrakech tour is a complete loop of southern Morocco from the Red City — imperial sights, mountain passes, kasbah country and a proper stretch of the Sahara Desert, ending back where you started. It’s the ideal length to slow down and enjoy each place rather than rush between them.
You’ll spend a full guided day in Marrakech, cross the High Atlas to UNESCO-listed Ait Ben Haddou, walk the Todra and Dades gorges, and sleep two nights around the Erg Chebbi dunes of Merzouga with a sunset camel trek and a full desert day among nomads. Fully private, at your own pace.
Your driver will meet you at Marrakech airport and transfer you to your riad or hotel. The rest of the day is yours to settle in and get a first taste of the Red City. Overnight in Marrakech.
A licensed local guide leads a sightseeing tour of the Marrakech medina and its highlights — the Koutoubia Mosque, the Bahia Palace, the Saadian Tombs, the souks and the famous Jemaa el-Fna square, alive with musicians and storytellers. Overnight in Marrakech.
Your desert journey begins as you cross the High Atlas via the Tizi n’Tichka pass, with stops for photos and Berber villages. You’ll explore the fortified kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, then continue to Ouarzazate and its film studios.
Following the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs through Skoura and the Rose Valley, you’ll reach the Dades Valley for dinner and an overnight amid its dramatic rock formations.
After breakfast you’ll head into the Todra Gorge, where sheer cliffs rise above a cool river — perfect for a short walk. Continuing south through Tinjdad and the fossil town of Erfoud, you’ll reach the edge of the Erg Chebbi dunes.
In the late afternoon a camel carries you over the sand to your desert camp for a sunset trek, dinner and a night under the stars in a Berber tent.
Today is devoted to the desert around Erg Chebbi. On a 4×4 tour you’ll visit nomad families, the seasonal lake, and the village of Khamlia for its hypnotic Gnawa music, seeing how life works on the edge of the Sahara.
After exploring the dunes and oases, you’ll return for a second night in the desert — a sunset stroll, a tagine dinner and a sky full of stars.
Leaving the dunes, you’ll visit the market town of Rissani and its historic Tafilalet palm grove, then cross the Anti-Atlas toward Alnif and the Berber towns of Tazzarine and N’kob.
The scenic Draa Valley, with its endless palm groves and old kasbahs, leads you back to Ouarzazate for dinner and the night.
After a last look at Ouarzazate and its studios, you’ll recross the High Atlas via the Tizi n’Tichka, with mountain viewpoints and a lunch stop, before arriving back in Marrakech — the end of your 7-day Marrakech desert tour, dropped at your accommodation.

Seven days is the ideal length to pair the culture of Marrakech with a real Sahara adventure — without long, tiring single-day drives. You get a guided city day, two nights in the dunes, the great gorges and kasbah country, all in one private, relaxed loop that returns you to Marrakech.
Every departure is tailor-made, with your own driver-guide shaping each day around you — the easy, rewarding way to see the best of the south from Marrakech.
Yes — every tour is 100% private by default. It’s just your group, your driver-guide and your own vehicle, so you experience Morocco entirely at your own pace. Stop whenever you like for photos, a mint tea or a closer look at a village or viewpoint.
Prefer to share costs? We also run small-group departures on popular routes — just contact us and we’ll match you to the right option.
Absolutely. This is your trip — we can adjust the pace, swap or upgrade accommodation, add nights, and build in extra stops or activities. For the smoothest planning, let us know any changes at least two weeks before departure, though we’ll always do our best with last-minute requests too.
The per-person price goes down as your group grows, because the private vehicle and driver-guide are shared across more travellers. Send us your exact numbers and dates and we’ll send back a clear, all-in quote per person.
Usually not — if anything the opposite. We hand-pick the best riads and desert camps, and the good ones fill up fast, especially in high season (spring and autumn). Booking early secures the best accommodation and a smoother trip.
That said, we do take last-minute bookings when availability allows — message us with your dates and we’ll tell you honestly what’s possible.
Yes. Morocco is one of the most welcoming and stable countries in the region, and tourism is central to its economy, so visitor safety is taken seriously — including dedicated tourist police and government-accredited guides.
On a private tour you’re looked after door to door by a driver-guide who knows the routes and the local etiquette. Serious crime is rare and comparable to many European destinations; normal travel common sense is all that’s needed. Morocco is a great choice for couples, families and solo travellers alike.
Once we’ve agreed an itinerary that works for you, a small deposit secures your dates with Let’s Visit Morocco (every tour on the site can be tailored to your needs). You simply pay the remaining balance at the start of your tour in Morocco — no large upfront payment required.
