Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas – Telouet – Ounila Valley – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate

We will start our Marrakech to  Merzouga desert  by leaving Marrakech in the morning, on order to head south towards the High Atlas Mountains, through the mountain pass of Tizi-N-Tichka. We will then reach our first destination of the day, the Kasbah of Talouet or Pacha Glaoui. Then, taking the ancient road of caravan travelers, we will arrive at the star of the desert, the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou. We will take some time to explore the beauty of the site, after which we will continue driving to our last destination of the day: Ouarzazate city. We will have dinner then spend the night at a local Riad in Ouarzazate.

Day 2: Ouarzazate – Agdez – Draa Valley– Tazarine – Tafraoute – Ramlia – Ouzina (Paris Dakar Rally track)

This next day, we will continue heading south to the Agdez village, driving through the high mountain pass of Tizin Tinifft (1660 meters high). We will then arrive at the biggest and most impressive valley of the country, the Draa valley. A hidden gem of this valley is the beautiful Kasbah of Alkaid Ali Tmnougate, which you will, of course, get to visit. Then after we’re done with that, we will start driving towards our last destination of the day, the Ouzina desert. But before we get there, we will meet many Berber villages along the way, such as N’Kob, Tarazine, Alnif, and Tafraoute. Once we arrive at Ouzina, we will have dinner and spend the night at the famous local Ouzina TGM Riad.

Day 3: Ouzina Desert – Merzouga Desert

We will start our day with a traditional breakfast, after which we will leave the Riad. Then we will start driving towards Erg Chebbi at Merzouga, through the rails of the old Paris-Dakar rally. On our way there we will be driving through a desert area, which means we will meet many Berber villages along the way, one of which being Khamlia. You will get to explore the village that´s untouched by civilization, as well as enjoy the traditional Gnawa music that´s indigenous to the people of the area. When we are done with that, we will continue driving through a path once used by nomad locals, to finally reach the dunes of Erg Chebbi at Merzouga. This is when we will embark on our camel-trekking experience, in which you will get to ride the back of camels that will take you to the desert camp where we will spend the night. You will get to experience the real desert culture through a traditional dinner, accompanied by live Berber music. Finally, you will sleep in a traditional nomad style tent (fully equipped), as you will get to gaze at the starry desert night sky.

Day 4: Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorges– Dades Valley

This next day, we will make sure to wake you up in time to be able to watch the magnificent desert sunrise. After that, we will ride on camels once again, back to Merzouga, where you can shower and have breakfast. We will then head to Rissani city, which is where the old city of Sijilmassa used to be. Sijilmassa is known for being the homeland of the ancestors of the Alaoui dynasty that currently rules over the kingdom. We will then continue driving towards the Dades valley, passing by the breathtaking gorges of Todra. We will have dinner and spend the night at a Riad in the Dades valley

Day 5: Dades Valley – Roses Valley – Skoura – Marrakech

For the last day of this trip, we will start the day by taking up the road of the “thousand Kasbahs”, which will lead to discovering the beautiful valley of Roses, then the impressive palm groves of Skoura. Also in Skoura, you will get a guided tour of the fascinating Kasbah of Amerdil. That will be our last stop of the day before heading back to Marrakech, through passes of the High Atlas Mountains. We will have lunch on the way, then we will arrive in Marrakech in the evening. This marks the end of our Marrakech to Merzouga desert tour.
